Carlisle, Ohio Grad Rick Amburgey joins the Carlisle Daily Team

Rick Amburgey has joined the Carlisle Daily team and will begin today producing articles for our Opinion section. Rick is an avid writer and reporter who has a ton of experience in journalism. We are excited to have Rick on board and looking forward to partnering with his skills, wit, and excitement for writing and reporting!

Rick has lived in the Carlisle/Franklin Township area since 1983 and is a 1995 graduate of Carlisle High School. He has two Bachelors degrees from Northern Kentucky University, Journalism (2001) and English Education (2003).

Amburgey is the former editor of the Springboro Star Press and has freelanced for a number of publications, including the Dayton Daily News and the Middletown Journal. He has won four awards for journalism from the Kentucky Intercollegiate Press Association. He has also placed in two national songwriting contests and has self-published three novels and two books of poetry.
